POSITION TITLE: Intern, Quality Engineer DEPARTMENT: QualityREPORTS TO: Quality Engineer, Section ManagerNON-EXEMPT: X
Skills & Abilities Required:
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communicational skills required
- Ability to take a leadership role in a team based environment
- Must possess good analytical, numerical, problem solving, and reasoning abilities
- Excellent planning & organization skills required
- Strong “hands on” ability
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Must be able to meet all safety requirements for applicable safety policies and use of all required safety equipment
- Must have acceptable attendance to meet company standards and requirements
Minimum Level of Preparation & Training Required:
Proof of High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
Currently enrolled as a Sophomore, Junior or Senior in an engineering-related degree-seeking program at least ½ time during regular semesters
Have the ability to work at a minimum of 12 hours per work week (Monday – Friday) during normal business hours
Duties:
- Analyze blueprints and interpret technical data
- Assist QE with development and updating of engineering documentation (control plans, FMEA, Inspection Standards, etc.)
- Assist QE with analysis of defective parts and establish root cause and countermeasures
- Assist QE with collection of attribute and variable data as requested
- Perform other duties as assigned in order to ensure achievement of section, department, or company plan
