Aisin Company Picnic (June 4th, 2017)

Every year AMI, AEIL, and ALM come together to host an annual Aisin Company picnic. This year approximately 2,700 team members RSVP’d. Team members were invited to Walkers Bluff Winery for a wide array of family fun. Activities included inflatable bounce houses and games, catch and release fishing, a playground, and a giant chess set. Team members and their families were offered lunch which included BBQ sandwiches and hotdogs, cotton candy, and ice cream. Overall it was a successful event- We’d like to thank everyone who came out and assisted with the organization of the event.

Spring 2017 Aisin Mile Clean Up

AMI had a record breaking turn out this year. We have a total of 138 team members (including families) participate along with 30 from AEIL and 20 from ALM. Team members worked together to clean up Redco Drive along with a portion of DeYoung Ave (Hwy 13). Clean up started around 7am and finished around 9am. Within 2 hrs., team members collected a staggering amount of trash. This is just one small step AMI takes to beautifying and maintaining our environment. AMI has been “zero landfill” since 2009 which means we recycle, reuse, or repurpose items throughout the plant. This only works because of the support of our team members.   Thank you to everyone who participated. Spring 2017 has been our largest turn out year so far!

3rd Annual Aisin Penny March

AMI had several little visitors on March 24th, as we welcomed the children of several Aisin employees to collect donations for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. AMI & AEIL raised a total of $1,202.31. The funds were raised thanks to the 3rd Annual Aisin Penny March. The donations were presented in the name of “Aisin Employees” to the Z100 Partners in Hope Radio-thon. The radio-thon was held March 30th and 31st. Several Aisin employees volunteered to man the phones and collect donations.

Below is a photo of Mr. Kato, our president, alongside the children who collected the donations.

Knock Out Cancer

During the month of October, AMI joined with other Aisin locations to Knock Out Cancer. We decided to mix things up a little by recognizing all cancers instead of traditionally breast cancer during the month of October. Special t-shirts were sold and the proceeds from the sales were evenly divided and donated to St. Jude and the Susan G. Komen Foundation. The manufacturer of the t-shirts, Gildan, kicked in $3,000 in donations. Thanks to all parties involved, Aisin NAPs were able to raise $16,981.00. Divided between our two charities, that’s $8,490.50 to each St. Jude and the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

All Aisin locations asked their employees to wear their Knock Out Cancer wear on October 21st. We banded together as a group wearing our apparel as one. Together our “Knock Out Cancer” day helped to lend support and cancer awareness.

Happy Holidays from AMI

During the month of December, AMI reaches out to local charities and organizations in hopes to make a difference in our local community. We are currently collecting toys that will be donated to Toys For Tots. These toys will be collected and then distributed to the children in our local community. Another charitable effort AMI is making is participating in Secret Santa for Caritas Family Solutions. This event collects gifts for 10 kids in foster care. Additionally, AMI is working to provide gifts for the adults that are staying at the Lighthouse Homeless Shelter. AMI participates in each event yearly in hopes that we can bring a brighter holiday to those who reside in our region.

Happy Holidays from AMI!

AISIN Celebrates Earth Day

Earth Day 2015Aisin takes great PRIDE in maintaining environmental friendly plants and being 0 landfill. So it’s no surprise they come together to celebrate Earth Day in their unique Aisin way. This year on April 22, 2015, AMI, AEIL, & ALM planted two birch trees adjacent with the AIP’s wetland to diversify and expand natural habitat. The plants also joined forces on April 18 to host The 2015 Spring Aisin Mile Clean Up which had approximately 120 people in attendance. This is an event they host twice a year to clean up the trash along Route 13 and the areas around AMI, AEIL, and ALM which is considered the “Aisin Mile.” It is the perfect time to remind us all about our environmental responsibilities and doing our part to reduce, reuse, and recycle.

AMI Reels in Big Donations for St. Jude

st Jude

AMI is always happy to help out St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital any way that they can. This year was the 3rd Annual Aisin Bass-Masters St. Jude Benefit Bass Tournament held on the Lake of Egypt. They always have a great turn out and this year raised $1575 for the charity. They also sold “Fishing for the Cure” t-shirts to their fellow team members and donated the proceeds to the annual Z100 St. Jude Radiothon. AMI donated more than a check to Z100 though, as they were also their phone book sponsor. They sent several team members to help answer the phone calls and collect donations. A total of $272,411 was raised. AMI greatly appreciates all of its team members who volunteered their time to help answer the phone collections and Fish for the Cure.
